Goals
The main objective of RUN is to consolidate a collaborative network for combining scientific knowledge – through nature-based solutions – with a perspective of citizen science – through participatory and co-creative processes – that supports by the production of spaces, whose improvement of environmental effectiveness and risk mitigation, be carried out alongside the offer of green areas, recreation and leisure.
RUN will develop the following outcomes:
- Platform for Collaborative Urban Rivers Practice – for sharing, comparing and reviewing information, documents and data crucial on the cases, methods applied towards facilitating the discussion and analysis of new approaches for the revitalization of urban rivers. It will be a dynamic environment for sharing knowledge.
- Interactive Ideas Catalogue – as a pool of examples for sharing knowledge, experiences, expert views, etc with a wider audience. As an online bank of ideas it starts with the presentation of the different experiences in the countries involved. Gradually, the catalogue will allow other specialists, the government and communities to publish their own cases, discover new ones, discuss ideas, etc.
- Publish four yearbooks on Urban Rivers with contributions from participants and other invited authors, on multidisciplinary approaches for river regeneration and citizens engagement.
